Posh U18s to face The Sky Blues at the idverde Training Ground.
Peterborough United U18s welcome Coventry City U18s to the idverde Training Ground on Friday afternoon (12pm) as Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s men look to return to winning ways in the Under-18 Professional Development League.
The under 18s began the New Year with a 4-1 loss to league leaders Barnsley U18s last Saturday, while The Sky Blues picked up their first victory in four games after a 3-0 win over Wigan Athletic.
Forward Joel Odei-Larbi made his return to action last weekend after he was substituted on in the final 10 minutes and could be involved once again against The Sky Blues. Midfielder Harry Titchmarsh picked up a knock in the defeat to The Tykes and will face a few weeks on the sidelines.
Speaking ahead of the game, Jamal Campbell-Ryce said: “We played them just before Christmas and they were very direct, physical and had plenty of threat, always looking to get it forward once they retained possession. We struggled in the first half when we played them at their place, but we improved in the second half and got something out of it, but felt we could have gotten more than the point.”
“The players have been told all week that we need to compete because if not, they will just run all over us. I know the conditions will be difficult, both the weather and playing surface, but if we try and play the way I know we are capable of, I think we can open this team up.”
Updates of the game will be provided as much as possible on The Posh Academy Twitter account (@theposhacademy).
