Posh U18s face The Sky Blues on Saturday morning.

Peterborough United U18s travel to Alan Higgs Centre on Saturday morning (11am) to face Coventry City U18s in the Under-18 Professional Development League.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s side returned to winning ways in the league last weekend after a 3-1 victory over Watford U18s, lifting them to fourth in the table and only one point behind league leaders Barnsley U18s. The Sky Blues have failed to win in their last five games and currently sat ninth in the table.

Defender János Bodnár will be unavailable for the under 18s, who will travel with the under 21s for their Premier League Cup clash against Brentford on Friday evening, while midfielder Harry Titchmarsh also won’t feature.

The under 18s could end the weekend within the top two if they pick up three points against The Sky Blues and other results go their way and U18s manager Campbell-Ryce has set that as a challenge for the squad.

Campbell-Ryce said: “In the last few weeks, we have been in a really good place. The group have trained really hard this week and I have given out some clear objectives and outcomes that I want to see achieved in the game. As long as we work harder than the opposition, then I believe we will outplay them.

“We have done our preparations and now it’s up to the players, but what I love about this group is when a few players have had to come out, the ones who have replaced them have stepped up to the task. We could potentially be top of the table by the end of the weekend and that’s the challenge I have given them.”

Updates of the game will be provided as much as possible on The Posh Academy Twitter account (@theposhacademy).
