Posh U18s face The Terriers in the final Under-18 Professional Development Cup group game on Saturday.
Peterborough United U18s welcome Huddersfield Town U18s to the idverde Training Ground on Saturday (12pm) in their final group game of the Under-18 Professional Development League Cup.
The under 18s currently sit second in the group after the opening two games, beating Bradford City before a 2-2 draw against Crewe Alexandra, and will only need a point in Saturday’s game to secure progression into the next round. The Terriers sit third and will need to beat Posh to leapfrog them into the top two.
U18s boss Jamal Campbell-Ryce will be looking for a positive reaction after back-to-back defeats against Sheffield United and Northampton Town, but is expecting another tough game on Saturday.
Campbell-Ryce said: “Football changes really quickly, we have to remember at the beginning of the season we were in a tough place, but as a group, we found ourselves in a good run of form over the last month. However, now we have had two bad results in the league and FA Youth Cup, which is disappointing, but my job is to coach them on the pitch and also off the pitch, bringing a positive mentality.
“They have had a few days off and now we have to go in another tough game against Huddersfield Town on Saturday. Hopefully, we can pick up three points and progress into the next round.”
Updates of the game will be provided as much as possible on The Posh Academy Twitter account (@theposhacademy).
