Posh U18s face The Blades at Bramall Lane on Wednesday afternoon.
Peterborough United U18s travel to Bramall Lane on Wednesday afternoon (12pm) as they face Sheffield United U18s in their penultimate game of the Under-18 Professional Development League campaign.
Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s men made it back-to-back wins in the league after a 4-1 victory over Millwall U18s, with goals from Tyler Winters, Reuben Marshall and Tom Unwin, solidifying their spot in third-place this season.
Posh were chasing down second-place, Sheffield United, but The Blades confirmed a runners-up finish in the Professional Development League after a 2-1 win over QPR on Saturday, making it three consecutive wins for them.
U18s manager, Campbell-Ryce, spoke about the experience of playing at Bramall Lane for his players and wants to end the season as strongly as possible.
“It’s going to be a brilliant experience for the players to play at Bramall Lane, fantastic facilities and pitch. Although second-place is out of reach now, we have had a fantastic season in our league form, especially the second-half of the campaign and I want the players to travel to Sheffield and finish the season strongly and get another three points on the board.
“However, we expect them to have loads of energy and be direct. They will press us and will look to compete and be aggressive for first or second balls, but as long as we match that, I have good confidence that we can outplay them.”
Updates of the game will be provided as much as possible on The Posh Academy Twitter account (@theposhacademy).
