Posh U21s face St Ives in their penultimate game of pre-season.
Peterborough United U21s continue their pre-season schedule on Tuesday evening (7:45pm) as they travel to Westwood Road to face Southern League Premier Division Central side St Ives Town.
The under 21s secured an impressive 2-2 draw against Premier League’s Liverpool U21s last week and are unbeaten in their four games of pre-season so far, beating Peterborough Sports and Whittlesey Athletic.
St Ives Town are set to begin their 2023/24 campaign on Saturday 5th August against Mickleover Sports as they look to improve on a 16th-placed finish last season in The Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Central Division.
The trip to Westwood Road is the penultimate game of pre-season for the under 21s ahead of their Professional Development League and Professional Development Phase Coach, Jamal Campbell-Ryce, spoke about the importance of starting to put their style of play together.
Speaking ahead of the match, Campbell-Ryce said: “It will be another good test for the players and an excellent opportunity to get more minutes in the legs and keep improving their fitness. However, with the new season just around the corner, we are starting to implement our principles and how we play our game model.
“The player performances are really starting to get judged now as we start to look at what our starting eleven could be for the opening day of the season. Although it’s another challenging test, It will be about ourselves and how the players apply themselves.”
Ticket prices will be £6 for all supporters aged over 16 (no concessionary prices) and any under 16 accompanied by an adult will get free admission.
