Posh U21s to face The Cherries in their first trip on the road in the Professional Development League.
Peterborough United U21s return to action in the Under-21 Professional Development League (PDL) on Tuesday afternoon (1pm) as they face AFC Bournemouth at Wimborne Town.
The under 21s suffered defeat in their opening game of the league campaign, with a 3-0 loss to Colchester United U21s last Tuesday at the Weston Homes Stadium. The Cherries, who are competing in the PDL for the first time, got off to a perfect start as they won 2-0 away at Coventry thanks to goals from Michael Dacosta Gonzalez and Daniel Adu-Adjei.
U21s Lead Professional Development Coach, Ryan Semple, believes that if they improve in certain areas then performances will start to turn around and is looking forward to a tough test against The Cherries.
Semple said: “We will have to put our last two results behind us, they were a lot of areas we could have improved but, more importantly, we can improve on those as sometimes it’s just lapses of concentration and at a high level those can get punished. So, if we can cut those out, then we will be on to a good performance and hopefully a result at the end of it.
“They are new to the division and we have watched their game back, which showed they are a good side, move the ball well and have some excellent individual players. It will be a tough game, but also exciting and one we are confident of doing well in and improving on things from our last few performances.”
