Posh U21s face The Railwaymen in their last Professional Development League fixture.
Peterborough United U21s travel to Crewe Alexandra Training Ground on Monday afternoon (1pm) to face Crewe Alexandra U21s in the Professional Development League, with the aim of making it back-to-back victories in the league.
The under 21s secured a 3-1 victory over Burnley U21s at the idverde Training Ground last Tuesday - with Donay O’Brien-Brady netting a brace alongside Jacob Wakeling - and Semple is keen to build on that performance but acknowledges it’s another tough test against The Railwaymen
Semple said: “We obviously want to build on the last game. There were a few things from the game that we reviewed and were really pleased with, we need to continue those and hopefully do them more, but also look at areas we can improve and keep working on them to try and improve them the best we can.
“They will look to play good football, players that are comfortable on the ball and have produced a number of players over the years, especially the technical players that create and develop to match the style they want to play. As ever, it’s the case of us trying to nullify their strengths and highlight their weaknesses, look to exploit them on the day.”
The Railwaymen are currently sat ninth in the table and were part of a 10-goal thriller in their previous fixture, coming out as 6-4 winners over Fleetwood Town. The two sides met on two occasions last season, with Posh securing three points in each fixture.
Forward Reuben Marshall is in contention to be involved for the trip to Alexandra Park after missing the opening parts of the campaign due to injury. David Kawa and Lewis Darlington remain unavailable due to injuries.
