Posh U21s to face The Turbines at PIMS Park on Saturday afternoon.
Peterborough United U21s continue their pre-season programme on Saturday afternoon (3pm) as they will make a short trip down the road to face Peterborough Sports at PIMS Park.
The under 21s were held to a goalless draw by Dereham Town in their previous outing on Tuesday night, but kicked off their programme with a 4-0 win over Whittlesey Athletic at The Danzen Logistics Stadium last weekend.
Sports began their pre-season schedule with a comfortable 5-0 victory over Deeping Rangers on Tuesday evening, with goals from Mark Jones, Josh McCammon, Dan Jarvis and Ben Fowkes.
Professional Development Phase Coach, Ryan Semple, is expecting another difficult contest this weekend and encourages Posh fans to come down to PIMS Park with no men’s first-team game scheduled.
Semple said: “It will be another tough test for the players on Saturday, but the games will continue to get tougher as pre-season progresses. The last two games were good workouts, with the main aim of fitness and getting minutes in their legs but we also want to start to transfer what we have been working on every day in training into these games.
“Peterborough Sports are a local club and have done fantastic over the last few years, in terms of their promotions, and have a talented squad. It will be a really good opportunity to show where we are as a team at the minute and also for supporters to see the club’s younger players.”
Supporters can pay on the game on Saturday afternoon, with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, while under 18s will be able to attend for FREE.
