Posh U21s face The U’s in the final game of the season.
Peterborough United U21s travel to JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday evening (7pm) in their final game of the Professional Development League, with Ryan Semple’s side looking to make it four consecutive victories in the league.
The under 21s secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra in their previous game in the league, lifting them to sixth in the table. Posh could end the season as high as fourth if they pick up three points and results go their way.
The U’s, who compete in the Southern Section of the Professional Development League, are currently sat ninth in the table and have failed to win in their last three games, including a 7-1 defeat to Sheffield United last time out.
Professional Development Phase coach, Semple, is looking to end the season with four consecutive victories. He said: “We will be looking for a good performance to end the season, that will be the most important thing. I want us to be together, organised, with lots of energy in and out of possession, and aggression to win the ball back.
“That’s obviously the basis of a good performance and look to build on that. We want to end the season as positively as possible, especially when you look back on the last three games.”
