Peterborough United Under 18s were held to a point in Swansea after late drama denied Unwin’s side all three points in SA6.
Peterborough United Under 18s were minutes away from making it two wins from two, but a late Swansea leveller meant that the points were shared in South Wales.
Despite a positive start to the afternoon, the hosts landed the first blow on 15 minutes when Harvey Gray saw his composed finish find the back of the net, past Ben Westcott to provide the Swans with an early lead.
Down the other end, Bolu Shofowoke had an opportunity of his own; the frontman was afforded space to cut inside before his strike was met by the Swans’ shot-stopper who done well to parry his effort away.
Posh continued to probe, and on 33 minutes Joe Davies netted his first of the season with a well-taken finish to pull Posh level.
Swansea responded well, Ramon Rees-Siso fired his side back in front within three minutes when his instinctive finish beat Westcott in the Posh net. The first-half ending in a 2-1 reverse for Posh.
Posh continued to impress despite the setback, Edward Fox pulled Unwin’s side level early into the second period.
Fox fashioned another opportunity on 57 minutes as Posh looked to apply pressure, his effort was well-blocked by Brogan Popham to deny a quick-fire third.
Posh continued to take the game to their counterparts; Shofowoke had his solo effort kept out with a fantastic save from Sam Seager.
The pressure soon told when Andre Changunda lashed home an effort to put Posh ahead late in the second half. The drama continued, however, the hosts’ hunt for a let leveller was rewarded when Rees-Siso found the back of the net in stoppage time.
The result meant the Under 18s remain unbeaten, and will face Millwall next Saturday (12pm kick-off) as they continue their PDL campaign.
