Peterborough United Under 18s made it back-to-back victories as they claimed all three points in Ipswich.
Jimmy Unwin named an unchanged eleven to the one that defeated QPR 6-0 last time out, Noah Freeman was rewarded with captaincy after Andre Changunda missed out due to suspension.
Posh were first to threaten, Benjamin McWilliams-Marcano’s effort was well-stopped by the Ipswich man in net before a defender rescued the ball on the line to deny Unwin’s side an early lead.
The hosts came close moments later when a ball was sent into the box from wide, which met the head of the Ipswich front man who saw his effort glance across the face of goal.
Ipswich continued to push and found themselves through on goal on 14 minutes, but George Holley showed his worth when he timed his tackle to perfection to dispossess his counterpart.
Holley was involved once more before the half hour mark, the ball was fed to the midfielder on the edge of the penalty area who then fired wide of the far post.
The hosts fashioned an opportunity minutes later, James Mauge latched onto a ball from deep and looked to lob the onrushing Ben Westcott, but the latter was relieved to see his effort fall wide of the post.
McWilliams-Marcano continued to find joy down the right in the opening exchanges of the second half, linking up well with Shofowoke, but the pair lacked the final cutting edge in the important moments.
Ipswich posed their own threat on 66 minutes and the home side were rewarded with a penalty – the hosts converting the following spot-kick to take the lead against the run of play.
Posh had already made a host of substitutions and that soon took affect, there was an opportunity for McWilliams-Marcano to drive down the right, before the winger picked out SHOFOWOKE at the back post who nodded home an instant leveller.
Unwin’s side were in the ascendancy from then on, MCWILLIAMS-MARCANO pounced on Shofowoke’s miskick to fire Posh in front on 70 minutes.
The momentum continued and Posh found a third minutes later, substitute Patryk SYKUT'S effort was turned into the net by an Ipswich defender to extend Posh’s advantage.
Shofowoke had an opportunity to double his tally for the afternoon, the front man muscled past the Ipswich defender and had options either side, but opted to shoot himself, and his strike was well-blocked.
