Posh Women complete pre-season training camp at Worksop College
Peterborough United Women completed a three-day pre-season training camp at Worksop College as part of their preparations for the 2023/24 FA Women’s National League campaign.
Dan Lawlor’s squad arrived on Friday and held a number of sessions across the three days in Nottinghamshire, including improving match fitness and integrating the new players and staff introduced over the summer.
The training camp was proudly sponsored by their front-of-shirt sponsor and Girls Academy sponsor, The Urban Penguin, who was also in attendance at Worksop College. Andrew Mallett, owner of The Urban Penguin, continues to be extremely proud to support the side ahead of the new season.
Mallett said: “We were delighted to have been given the opportunity to sponsor and attend the pre-season training camp with the Posh Women. This was the second successive year we have sponsored the event and the improvements are visible. The on-pitch team is on another level now, but they are supported by a massively enhanced coaching squad. The support provided for the team is crucial for the team to excel, and they are sure to make a lasting impression.”
Lawlor said: “First of all, I want to say a massive thank you to The Urban Penguin for sponsoring the pre-season training camp and giving the players and staff the opportunity to get together for the weekend, something that wouldn’t have happened without his support.
“It was an incredibly positive three days for us, we worked on match fitness and looked at plans ahead of the new season. I’m honestly so proud of all the players who gave 100% throughout the weekend, especially in some tough conditions. This was very much needed and we are now looking forward to getting our pre-season schedule underway on Sunday."
