Posh Women Development Squad back on the road on Sunday afternoon.
The Posh Women Development Squad are set for their final away game of 2022 as they face Loughborough Foxes Vixens Women on Sunday afternoon (2pm) in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Division One South.
Shaun Harley’s side will be hoping to return to winning ways having lost three competitive games on the bounce, putting Posh now third in the table on 12 points, three points adrift off fourth and three points away from Kettering Town in 2nd.
Opponents Loughborough Foxes Vixens lie down in eighth, one place above the relegation zone, on six points, having lost five of their games so far. Like Posh, Loughborough have also lost their previous three matches and will be hoping to make amends in Sunday’s game.
The Development Squad will be hopeful that numerous players will be fit enough to play, including captain Hannah Murphy, who picked up an injury in the previous game.
Fellow midfielder Alicia Podd is also hopeful of being included in the squad as she recuperated ahead of schedule from a knee injury sustained last month. Posh will need to handle striker Renae Huggan-Broughton as she has scored 7 goals in 6 appearances this season.
Speaking ahead of the game, Harley said, “It’s going to be another tough game as we continue to miss a few players due to injuries and unavailability. Realistically, we have just got to go out there and try to win. I know the girls have the right attitude and ability to do it on the day, so the players have got to believe that and bounce back from the previous three games.”
