Posh Women Development Squad travel to Kettering Town Women on Sunday afternoon.
The Posh Women Development Squad return to league action this Sunday (2pm) as they face Kettering Town Women FC in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League Division One South.
Shaun Harley’s side will be looking to brush aside last weekend’s penalty shootout loss against Peterborough Sports Ladies in the Northants County Cup and continue their fantastic form in the league.
Posh remain second in the table on 12 points, four points below league leaders Northampton Town, with Kettering Town sitting in third and three points behind the Posh.
The Development Squad will be without midfielder Alicia Podd, who will be out of action until the new year after breaking a bone in her knee in last weekend’s cup game. Fellow midfielder Edyn Osker is likely to make her league debut for Posh having been brought up from the Emerging Talent Centre after featuring off the bench in last weekend’s cup game.
Kettering Town forward Lauren Adams will be looking to continue her fine form in front of goal as she has scored 10 goals in just five games, and manager Harley is expecting a tough encounter against The Poppies on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking ahead of the game, Harley said: “It’s second versus third in the league, so we are anticipating a tough game. Kettering are on a decent run of form themselves, hence where they are in the table. Both teams will be fighting for the points to put pressure on Northampton and stake a claim for the title themselves."
