Posh Women Development Squad Manager Departs
We can confirm that Peterborough United Women Development Squad manager Shaun Harley has left the club by mutual consent as he focuses on taking a step back for personal reasons.
In Shaun Harley’s sole season in charge, he has guided the Development Squad to a possible fourth-place finish – depending on future results from opponents. The Development Squad has overseen a huge improvement on and off the pitch, with the squad vastly improving on last season’s points tally of 10 points. Shaun Harley has directed the Development Squad to five wins and a draw in 12 matches in his time in charge.
Harley has been an integral part of the Emerging Training Centre (ETC) pathway success this season. Eight players from the ETC have made the step-up to the Development Squad this season and this has been seen in the step-up to the first team as five players appeared in matchday squads throughout the season.
General Manager, Bobby Copping, said: “I’m gutted to see Shaun leave, but I just want to thank him for the excellent work he has done this season, seeing an improvement in performances and league position for the Development Squad. We stated at the start of the season that we wanted to see a pathway of Development Squad players into the first team, and we have achieved that.
“Five players have made their appearance for the first team, including three players from the Emerging Talent Centre. I wish him every success moving forward. Going forward, Chloe Brown will look after the Development Squad until we appoint a new manager ahead of the new season.”
Assistant Manager Ian McIntosh will also leave the club alongside Harley. We would like to thank Shaun and Ian for their efforts this season and wish him and his family nothing but the best for the future.
Emerging Talent Centre manager Chloe Brown will oversee the Development Squad until we are in a position to announce a new manager.
