Peterborough United Women are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Niamh Reynolds from Nottingham Forest Women, ahead of the 2024/25 FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands campaign.
The 22-year-old has clocked up over 65 appearances since she joined Forest Women in 2020, following a spell at Reading FC Women in the Women's Super League. Notably, the midfielder featured in The Reds’ first title win in over 15 years as well as victories in the FAWNL Plate and Cup.
Reynolds is excited to start a new challenge at Posh: “I think the club has got the right steps and it’s looking forward- I feel like it’s got really good foundations to be one of those top end women’s teams. It’s exciting to see and pushing for promotion is exactly what you want to be doing as a player, so it’s nice to know that’s what they’re striving towards.
“I want to develop my game, play as many minutes as I possibly can and just gain confidence. I want to try and get into a real rhythm of playing the style of football I know I can.
“People say I’m a bit like a bulldog in midfield, I kind of just run around, I’m quite aggressive, I like to drive forward with the ball, be forward thinking and play box to box.”
Manager Jake Poole is pleased to have Reynolds on board: “Niamh is a player I have admired for some time, she was a title winner 12 months ago and comes with the quality, professionalism and experience of a top tier 3 player.”
General Manager Sam Winch added: “This is certainly a signing for us all to be extremely excited about, knowing the capabilities Niamh has.
“She’s a player that will be a real menace all over the pitch, whilst possessing such great qualities both as a player and a person. Niamh will no doubt demonstrate leadership qualities that will help benefit our young players coming through, as well as complementing our senior players around her.”
