As part of the EFL Week of Action, the Posh Foundation have been supporting the Club with visits to schools across the region.
We have been committed to the 'fans of the future' for many years with the Schools Initiative part of that engagement with the local community, providing youngsters from across the region with free tickets to games at the Weston Homes Stadium, whilst learning about the importance of supporting your local side with the help of the best mascot in the EFL, Peter Burrow.
With the support of the Posh Foundation, the Club have arranged assemblies at Primary Schools within the Greater Peterborough area, with Longthorpe, Highlees and Hampton Vale in Peterborough, New Road in Whittlesey and St Peters Junior School among those visited since the start of the campaign.
In fact, this week, ahead of the Sky Bet League One meeting with Reading, the Club, with Peter in tow, have delivered assemblies at William Hildyard Primary School in Deeping and St Augustine's Junior School just around the corner from the stadium.
To coincide with the EFL Week of Action, the club have also engaged with local grassroots football teams and invited them to attend the fixture with Royals.
Clive Edwards, Posh's Head of Media and Marketing, said: "Engaging with future fans is a core part of our strategy to ensure that the fanbase at Peterborough United grows whilst also giving back to our local community through the many initiatives of the Peterborough United Foundation and the Club"
"The Schools Initiative is an integral part of that community work and seeing the hundreds of children enjoy the sessions that we put on is extremely rewarding for everyone at the Club."
