A goal in the second half from substitute Tanto Olaofe condemned Posh to defeat on the road at Stockport County on Friday evening.
Peterborough United suffered a 2-1 defeat to Stockport County in Sky Bet League One action on Friday night as striker Tanto Olaofe stepped off the bench to convert at the back post to condemn Darren Ferguson's men to a narrow loss at Edgeley Park.
It was a game of few clear-cut opportunities but it was the hosts who took all three points to continue their excellent start to the season.
It was the hosts who started brightly and Kyle Wootton headed wide from a deep cross to the back post on seven minutes, but two minutes later, the Hatters did have the breakthrough as Louie Barry's free-kick was tapped home from close-range from Odin BAILEY.
Oscar Wallin was cautioned for a foul on the quarter hour mark and was lucky not to get a second yellow card for a blatant tug back on his opponent.
Posh levelled on 34 minutes as RANDALL converted from six-yards after excellent approach play from Cian Hayes down the right.
Ricky-Jade Jones rounded the keeper moments later as he raced onto a Kyprianou pass, but it was an acute angle and his cross was tapped behind for a corner.
Hayes found the side-netting after a forceful run before the break. Kyprianou was forced off with an injury five minutes into the second half.
Randall and De Havilland saw efforts blocked after Jones caused Hinchcliffe to take a heavy touch from a back-pass.
Substitute OLAOFE made it 2-1 to the hosts on 74 minutes, firing home at the back post after a low cross from the dangerous Barry.
Bailey curled a free-kick over the bar but despite seven minutes of added time, Posh couldn't force an equaliser.
