The Club would like to update supporters on plans for the utilisation of the GH Display Stand for the forthcoming campaign.
Chairman, Darragh MacAnthony, has confirmed our commitment to utilising the GH Display Stand for home supporters and has urged fans to play their part by adhering to our Ground Regulations.
Following an extensive review of supporter feedback as well as numerous trial situations last season the Club have decided to ensure that home supporters will have the option to purchase tickets in the GH Display Stand for the first two home games of the season against Huddersfield Town (10th August) and Wrexham (31st August).
For both fixtures we will initially open blocks E4, E5 and E6 of the GH Display Stand to home supporters. Subject to demand from both teams the other half of the stand may open fully for Posh fans or house away supporters.
The Club’s goal is to reach a point where the GH Display Stand can be a designated home only stand for every game. We see this as an important step in the journey to achieve this goal.
In order to make this goal a success we would like to remind supporters of their role in conducting themselves on a matchday. The conduct of supporters will play a big part in future decisions from the Safety Advisory Group regarding the steps needed to be taken along our journey.
When the GH Display Stand housed home fans last season there were numerous offences committed by supporters in breach of our Ground Regulations. These offences have resulted in several stadium bans being issued.
The Club remains fully committed to a zero-tolerance policy in terms of Ground Regulation abuses.
The following is a list of behaviours which occurred in the GH Display last season and are unacceptable:
- Use of flares/pyros
- Racial and homophobic chants
- Breach of segregation line
- Abuse towards stewards and staff
- Entering the field of play
- Throwing objects
- Possession of drugs/drug use
- Blocking stairwells
The reason we have set this goal of opening the GH Display Stand to home supporters is to ensure that the Weston Homes Stadium offers the best possible fan experience and atmosphere. We would urge supporters to work together as one team to achieve this goal.
