Supporters can attend this Sunday’s Vitality Women’s FA Cup third round fixture against Durham Women for free.
Peterborough United Women have one of the biggest games in their history on Sunday afternoon (1pm) as they entertain Barclays Women’s Championship side Durham Women at the Abbey Lawn in the third round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.
The game was originally scheduled to take place Sunday 12th December, but was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
However, despite the rearranged date, the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor, The Urban Penguin, will continue to offer the opportunity for supporters to attend this weekend’s free of charge at the Abbey Lawn.
This initiative was used in the game against Doncaster Rovers Belles earlier in the season and saw their highest attendance to date as 376 supporters attended the game and will be looking to break that on Sunday afternoon with the visit from the Championship side.
So, what do supporters have to do?
All you have to do is say “The Urban Penguin sent me” at the turnstile and you will be admitted FOR FREE to watch what should be an exciting game at the Abbey Lawn.
Andrew Mallett from The Urban Penguin said: “Posh Women reaching the third round of the FA Cup is absolutely amazing and we want to share this occasion with as many people across the local area, so it was a no-brainer to bring the initiative back for this game. We want as much support as possible for The Posh Women against a strong Durham side, who are a championship side with real history in the women's game. If this does not get you into supporting local football, then nothing will.”
Posh Women General Manager Bobby Copping said: “We are extremely grateful to The Urban Penguin for working with us on this initiative. We are offering a unique opportunity for football fans to watch a third round FA Cup game for free. I believe this further demonstrates our commitment to building our fanbase through innovative strategies. We need everyone’s support and I hope everyone enjoys the game.”
