After Saturday's display at Lincoln, Posh needed to bounce back and three points were secured after a battling 1-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.
In football, sometimes it is about how you respond to adversity, setbacks or disappointing performances and Peterborough United bounced back from Saturday's heavy defeat at Lincoln City with a battling 1-0 home win over Wigan Athletic with on-loan Manchester City midfielder Mahamadou Susoho the match-winner.
In truth, despite the slender score-line, Darren Ferguson's men were always in control of proceedings, not necessarily in terms of possession, particularly at the start of the second half, but certainly in terms of solidity at the back and a threat on the break.
Skipper for the night Sam Hughes was excellent at the heart of the backline with George Nevett, Tayo Edun and Carl Johnston also performing admirably.
It was a quiet start to the night with few chances in the opening 15 minutes, until SUSOHO stooped to head home a pinpoint Edun centre on 19 minutes.
Chris Conn-Clarke fired over from a free-kick situation on 34 minutes, with Archie Collins also firing over from distance as Posh ended the first half with a little flurry of additional attacks in amongst a number of yellow cards.
Ricky-Jade Jones saw a shot deflected wide after a swift counter-attack on 77 minutes with Conn-Clarke denied a first Posh goal by a flying Tickle stop.
Seven minutes of added time was indicated, but Nick Bilokapic was untroubled as Posh secured a second league clean sheet of the campaign.
