Midfielder Mahamadou Susoho has returned to parent club Manchester City after a scan revealed extent of muscle injury.
Peterborough United can confirm that midfielder Mahamadou Susoho has returned to parent club Manchester City after a scan revealed that he would miss around four months of action following an injury sustained in the warm-up ahead of the Carabao Cup first round defeat to Oxford United.
Susoho joined on a season-long loan from the Premier League Champions and made his debut in the opening day defeat to Huddersfield Town at the Weston Homes Stadium.
Manager Darren Ferguson said after that game: "Mahamadou will be out for at least four months as I feared. In terms of the injury, I don't think you could do much more damage to that particular area. We have sent him back to Manchester City, we will keep in touch with them and the aim would be to try and get him back in January.
"It is a bad injury and I really feel for him because it is his first loan spell, he is such a young kid and it is a blow for us as well because we know he is a good player. We wish him well for his rehab."
