Jack Taylor insists that the play-off semi-final with Sheffield Wednesday has only reached half-time in the tie with another big 90 minutes to come.
Peterborough United go into the second leg of the Sky Bet League One play-off semi-finals at Hillsborough with a lead, but midfielder Jack Taylor has insisted that the tie is only at the half-way point and he and his team-mates need to put another big performance in against a top Owls side at Hillsborough on Thursday evening (8pm).
Wednesday finished the regular campaign with 96 points, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion, and have an excellent home record. They beat Posh 1-0 earlier this year and the second leg is expected to be played in front of a capacity crowd.
“Sheffield Wednesday’s squad is one of the best in the league so they're more than capable of scoring four goals themselves, so we’ve got to be disciplined on Thursday evening. We’ve done half the job, but we need to go there and play to win the game to make it easier for ourselves.
“We got the game plan right in the first leg, but I am sure it will be a different kind of game and we must be ready. There will be a big crowd there, they will get behind their team and we must go and make sure that we put another strong performance in.
“The lads were calm in the dressing room after the first leg because nothing is won or lost in the first leg of a play-off game. We will prepare right this week and go there and see what happens in the second leg,” Taylor said.
