The Peterborough United under 18s capped off an excellent week with a 4-1 victory at Fleetwood Town on Saturday morning as goals from Nathan Aikins, George Holley, Bolu Shofowoke and Max Beech secured three points in Lancashire.

In truth, it could have been more for the Posh youngsters, who missed a string of second half chances, but manager Jimmy Unwin was delighted with his team's performance.

Posh opened the scoring through a set-piece routine, which was finished off by defender Nathan AIKINS but the hosts found themselves level after a close-range strike.

Posh got themselves ahead through midfielder George HOLLEY, who scored a superb effort from 20-yards with his left-foot.

In the second half, Posh extended their advantage as Bolu SHOFOWOKE scored a trademark goal, racing clear and finishing well past the keeper.

Posh grabbed a fourth goal late on as Shofowoke raced clear, rounded the keeper and squared for BEECH to complete the scoring.

Professional Development Phase (U18s) Lead Coach Jimmy Unwin said: "It was a really good team performance and they thoroughly deserved the win and the goals they scored.

"In truth, they could have scored more in the second half, but we were always in control of the game and the boys were fantastic."
