The Posh under 21s fought back to earn a point from the clash with Barnsley.
The Peterborough United under 21s came back from 2-0 down to earn a point from their Professional Development League clash with Barnsley at the idverde Training Ground on Tuesday afternoon with striker Pemi Aderoju netting the equaliser.
Ryan Semple's men made a bright start to the contest and won a penalty inside the opening 10 minutes as Aderoju was upended in the box, but the former Biggleswade man saw his effort from 12-yards saved by the Tykes goalkeeper.
David Kawa headed over on 11 minutes following good work from Kai Corbett down the left while at the other end, Harry Thomas produced a fine clearance off the line to prevent the visitors from finding the breakthrough.
Emmanuel Fernandez was cautioned on 24 minutes for a shirt tug, but the resulting free-kick went harmlessly over the crossbar.
On 27 minutes, the visitors opened the scoring as the striker slotted home from close-range past goalkeeper Fynn Talley.
The lead was doubled on 38 minutes as the Tykes went into the interval in control. Corbett saw a shot saved six minutes into the second half before Posh were forced into a change as Kawa was replaced by Trialist A.
The trialist saw a shot saved before Corbett guided a header wide of the target after a good cross into the box.
Harley Mills fired over on 74 minutes as Posh began to get on top and they finally got back into the game moments later as CORBETT converted from the spot after a foul in the area.
Less than three minutes later and Posh were level and it was a fine effort from ADEROJU who gave the keeper no chance.
