It was a tough afternoon on the Humber as the Posh Under 21s suffered defeat at the hands of an in-form Hull City side who made it six wins on the spin.
The Peterborough United Under 21s fell to a 4-1 defeat at Hull City in their latest Professional Development League fixture with the Tigers continuing to impress at the start of the campaign.
After a quiet opening twenty-five minutes, Posh were presented with the first major chance as a free kick picked out Noah Freeman at the back post, but his header went just wide of the mark.
However, the game didn’t remain level for long. Three goals within 10 minutes put the Tigers in the ascendency. An own goal alongside strikes from George Dickinson and Tyrell Sellars-Fleming put the Tigers firmly in control.
Just before the half time interval Posh did manage to find a way back into the game with the e David KAMARA firing a left footed shot from the edge of the box past Callum Yam in the Hull goal.
Will Blackmore did well on 51 minutes to keep Posh alive with a brilliant stop to deny Zane Myers from close range. However, it was Hull who scored again in the late stages with Tyrell Sellars-Fleming getting a second from close range two minutes from time.
Posh: Blackmore, Freeman, Gbajumo, Mendonca, Sumnall, Campbell, Young, Davies, Trialist A, Sykut, Kamara. Subs: Smith, Claxton, Fox, Changunda, McWilliams-Marcano.
