The Posh Under 21s made it back-to-back wins on Tuesday afternoon as a last gasp goal from Noah Freeman secured a 3-2 victory over Fleetwood Town.
A goal in the final few moments from defender Noah Freeman secured an excellent 3-2 victory for the Peterborough United Under 21s in their latest Professional Development League fixture.
Freeman's effort made it five wins from nine for the Under 21s so far this season, but it certainly wasn't a straightforward three points for Ryan Semple's men.
The visitors started the game strongly, creating a number of early chances before taking the lead on 15 minutes as Mikey LANE converted from close-range following a deep corner. The lead didn’t last for long as Posh were awarded a penalty on 18 minutes following a foul in the box on Eddie Fox with Joe DAVIES converting from 12-yards.
The visitors nudged in front once more on 37 minutes as Owen DEVONPORT headed home from a well delivered ball into the box.
Posh started the second half in a positive manner with Ma'Kel Campbell's strike from distance well saved by the goalkeeper after good work from Patryk Sykut.
Posh got a deserved equaliser through DAVIES who fired past the goalkeeper after good approach play. With little time remaining, the comeback was complete as FREEMAN headed home the winner at the back post following an excellent Lucca Mendonca cross and Posh were able to make it two wins on the spin.
Lead Professional Development Coach Ryan Semple said: "The players deserve credit for showing their character in tough moments, but overall, there were aspects of the performance that we definitely need to improve on. It was a bit of a mixed display."
