Newmarket

Ryan Semple’s side will make the journey to the Tristel Stadium to face Newmarket Town on Tuesday evening, where their pre-season campaign will conclude (7:45pm kick-off).

The Peterborough United Under-21s will look to continue preparing for the new season following their 5-1 defeat against Norwich City Under-21s side with a trip to Newmarket Town.

It will be a stern test from the Isthmian North Division side. Last season, Newmarket Town, the runners-up in the Eastern Counties Division, gained promotion following a successful campaign. This season, The Jockeys will look to progress further higher up the non-league pyramid.

Last time out, Ryan Semple’s team were beaten away in Norwich, but despite that, they saw many positives in the defeat. “For the first hour, I thought we were good; we got our goal; we created some good openings and defended really well when we needed to.”

Speaking ahead to the sides next challenge, he said. “We will work again this week; firstly, we will close off the game with Norwich and look at what we have done well and what we haven't done well and look to improve on those things as we move forward.”

The fixture will take place in front of a crowd at the Tristel Stadium in Newmarket. Kick-off is at 7:45pm.
