Posh Under 21s return to winning ways with a solid 2-0 victory on the road at Coventry City.
The Peterborough United Under 21s returned to winning ways in impressive style with a 2-0 victory against Coventry City on Tuesday afternoon with goals in each half from Donay O'Brien-Brady and substitute Patryk Sykut.
Posh controlled large swathes of the game with the hosts only really causing a few problems at the start of the second half, but their efforts were repelled by Will Blackmore, who made a string of good saves, whilst also relieving pressure by claiming crosses from wide areas.
The deadlock was broken by O'BRIEN-BRADY in the first half, a reward for a bright start to the contest and the three points were secured by substitute SYKUT who converted a cross from Chris Conn-Clarke.
Lead Professional Development Phase Lead Coach (U21s) Ryan Semple said: "The lads were very good, we controlled a large proportion of the game, we lost a bit of control at the start of the second half and Will did well to make a few good saves and relieve a bit of pressure for us.
"There were some really positive performances, the midfield were good in and out of possession and we were a threat further forward, but the pleasing aspect was the clean sheet, when you are 1-0 up, you are always worried that something could come out of nothing, but we defended well both individually and collectively.
"The senior players were good, I would describe Chris' performance as 'mercurial', he was excellent and it was a good afternoon for us."
