The Posh under 21s are in Hillier Cup semi-final action at AFC Rushden and Diamonds on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).
The Peterborough United under 21s make the trip to Northamptonshire to face AFC Rushden and Diamonds in the semi-final of the Hillier Cup on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) with a place in the final of the competition up for grabs for Ryan Semple's men.
Peterborough Sports are one of the sides in the other semi-final of the competition with the Posh youngsters hoping to come through against the Diamonds who are managed by former Posh Head of Player Care Michael Harriman.
Attacking midfield player Kai Corbett has been ruled out with an ankle injury that was sustained in the 4-0 defeat to Burnley last week.
Semple said: "It will be a 21s group that is on duty and we are looking forward to it. We were a little younger in the first game of this competition but since then, we have played a strong XI as this is a competition that we want to win.
"I am looking for a better performance than what I saw at Burnley. We played AFC Rushden and Diamonds in pre-season, we know a bit about them from that game and also because of the link with Michael.
"They will be motivated to get through, they will want to put one over us, they will look to cause us problems, but we have to control the game with the ball and be organised off the ball. We have done a lot of work on set-pieces because that could be key on the night."
