A mixture Under 18s and Under 21s will travel to the capital as the Peterborough United Under 21s continue their pre-season friendly programme at Crystal Palace today, kick-off 11am.
Pre-season for the Academy continues on Saturday morning with a mixture of the Under 18s and Under 21s taking on Premier League 2 opposition in Crystal Palace Under 21s.
Under 21s Manager Ryan Semple has confirmed that two trialists who featured against Wingate & Finchley will be given a second run-out on Saturday, while five new trialists will debut in Posh colours; this besides one or two faces who have returned from a stint with the First Team.
Dan Robinson remained equally upbeat in his mission for pre-season: “Obviously pre-season there’s a focus on the physical outcomes more than the football – so it wasn’t, to us, about how the game went from a result point of view [against Wingate], it was about how the boys equipped themselves against a good non-league team physically, and they did that very well.
“Saturday is another opportunity for the boys to physically test themselves against a strong academy, and look at making sure we have one eye on the trialist as well as our boys that are getting good minutes and working hard to stake a claim to progress from the 18s to the 21s, and then beyond."
The fixture will take place at Crystal Palace's Training Ground.
