The quarter-final draw for the Vertu Trophy will be announced on Saturday with Posh booking their place after a win over Walsall.
Peterborough United made it through to the quarter-finals of the Vertu Trophy following a 4-2 success over Walsall at the Weston Homes Stadium on Tuesday night and Darren Ferguson's men will find out their next opponents in the competition on Saturday when the draw takes place.
The quarter-final draw will take place live on Sky Sports during the build-up to the Cardiff City v Swansea City fixture at approximately 11.10am with the fixtures remaining regionalised at this stage in the competition.
Posh could face fellow Sky Bet League One side Birmingham City, Sky Bet League Two outfit Cheltenham Town or either Stevenage or Leyton Orient who have yet to play their last round game.
Posh are number 3 in the draw.
