York commits future with Posh Women for next season.
Peterborough United Women are delighted to announce that defender Ellie York has put pen to paper and agreed terms with the club ahead of the 2023/24 FA Women’s National League campaign.
York, who joined the club at the backend of last season from Northern Premier Division side Burnley, where she made five appearances and helped Dan Lawlor's side to a fourth-placed finish in the table, becomes the next player in committing her future with Posh for next season.
The defender, and the rest of the squad, spoke about her excitement to return to pre-season training this week and how the club’s progression was one of the reasons on putting pen to paper for the upcoming campaign.
“I’m excited to have signed terms with the club and I can’t wait to get started once again,” York said. “I’m delighted to be handed this opportunity despite only playing five games last season, so it’s really pleasing that the club have shown that faith in me. The club is also progressing in the right way and it was one of the reasons why I wanted to stay on for the upcoming campaign.
“I have only been here for a short amount of time, but the players have been welcoming and easy to get on with, which made it easier for me to settle in. I’m looking forward to getting back into training and a tough pre-season schedule, which will be a good challenge as it will allow us to build some momentum ahead of the new season."
