Ma'Kel Campbell and Dan Robinson

Young midfielder puts pen to paper on a two-year deal after impressing during pre-season.

Peterborough United can confirm that midfielder Ma'Kel Campbell has agreed a two-deal contract (one of which is an option) after impressing during a trial period during the club and will link-up with the Under 21 group ahead of the new campaign.

Campbell has featured in the first team during a host of pre-season friendly fixtures and has now put pen to paper on a deal following a spell at Fulham.

Lead Professional Development Phase Lead Coach Ryan Semple said: "Ma'Kel joined us from Fulham about a week after Tyler Young joined us on trial. He had been at Fulham a long time so he is obviously well coached.

"He can play in numerous positions on the pitch, has good energy and is a decent technician with the ball at his feet. The way we want to play really suits his game, we want to dominate possession and he receives the ball in tight areas.

"He has understood what is required at first team level during pre-season and for us within the Academy, that bodes well for what we hope they can do within the Under 21 group."

Academy Manager Dan Robinson said: "Ma'Kel has been with us a little while and already has benefitted from the work our coaches within the Professional Development Phase and I am looking forward to watching him develop."
