Tyler Young and Dan Robinson

Posh have completed the signing of midfielder Tyler Young on a one-year release after impressing during pre-season.

Peterborough United have completed the signing of midfielder Tyler Young after a successful trial period during pre-season with the former Queens Park Rangers man penning a one-year deal to join the club's Under 21s.

Young featured in numerous friendly fixtures during pre-season, earning plaudits from first team manager Darren Ferguson in the process.

Lead Professional Development Phase Lead Coach Ryan Semple said: "Tyler joined us in the second week of pre-season after spending time at Queens Park Rangers. He is has really impressed, firstly he has a fantastic character, a real hard-worker and has taken on information well, whether that be myself or the first team management.

"For a trialist to spend so much time with the first team shows the impact he has made. His performances in training and in games have been good. He is a midfield player who can play in different parts of that position.

"Hopefully he will push in terms of firstly playing regularly in the Under 21s and then as he has done in pre-season when more players are needed in the first team, he will be on the radar for that too."

Academy Manager Dan Robinson added: "We are looking forward to seeing Tyler develop in his time with us, just like he has already done during pre-season under the guidance of our coaches within the Professional Development Phase."
