It took him three weeks from start to finish, but 13-year-old Posh fan Tom Parratt has created a stunning Lego build of the Meerkat Family Stand at the Weston Homes Stadium and it will be on display in the Club Shop for the foreseeable future.
Tom worked diligently to create the masterpiece, with the attention to detail impeccable, as it features some of the key sponsors at the football club as well as the always popular Peter Burrow.
Tom said: “Myself and my dad have been sitting in the Meerkat Family Stand for a while now and I am obsessed with Lego so I thought it would be a good way of combining two of my passions. It started with a photograph of the stand and then we drew out how we would like it to look, how many seats we would need for a block and then it went from there. My Dad contacted Compare the Market to see if they could help with the funding for the bricks and they were brilliant.
"Once all the bricks arrived, It took around three weeks to build and it is my biggest build to date. I have built lots of different things including a whole Lego city in the past, but this was a really good challenge. I am exhibiting at my first Lego show on Saturday 31st August in Ely, which is really exciting.
“I think I got my first bit of Lego when I was three years old and I have been a Posh fan since I was six-years-old. My favourite current player is Archie Collins and my all-time favourite is Ivan Toney. It is brilliant that the build will be in the Club Shop for people to come and have a look!”
The Ely Brick Show, that Tom will be exhibiting in, takes place at the Isle of Ely Primary School, School Road, Ely CB6 2FG on Saturday 31st August. Tickets can be purchased here
A Posh Club Spokesman said: “Tom has created a really brilliant build and it is another great example of how wonderful our stand sponsors are that Compare the Market helped make his dream turn into reality.”
